WHAT IS TRAUMA?
Traumatic events can overwhelm a person's psyche, threatening their physical and
psychological well-being and in many cases their survival. Trauma can be experienced by
anyone at any age from infancy to late old age.
WHAT IS ABUSE?
Abuse can consist of physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse and/or spiritual abuse.

PTSD is an anxiety disorder which anyone can develop as a result of experiencing a traumatic event. About 23% of people who are exposed to traumas such as a serious accident, physical or sexual assault, war or torture or a natural disaster such as a bushfire or a flood, develop PTSD.
