ABOUT US
The Blue Butterfly Brisbane Foundation for Trauma and Abuse Ltd has supported people in need since 2006 by providing funding for the healing of people suffering from emotional trauma when other government grants run out.
Why a Foundation?
Some trauma experiences are so overwhelming individuals can lose their ability to function. They are often too anxious to be alone and need a lot of support from their family and friends. This places a great strain on their close relationships.
When the victim is also the main bread winner this increases the family’s distress and imposes great financial strain. Recovery takes time and funds are often exhausted.
Medicare doesn’t allow for a sufficient number of sessions for the full recovery to take place. BBF provides appropriate therapy and supports people to full recovery.
How is This Foundation different to Other Organizations?
ACT for Kids provides counseling and support for children who have experienced Abuse, Neglect and Domestic Violence, their parents and families.
Bravehearts Inc. provides comprehensive counseling for children and young people who are victims of sexual assault. They advocate for and support adult survivors of child sexual assault and are actively involved in education, prevention, early intervention, awareness and research programs.
Beyondblue is an initiative of Australian Governments with a key goal of raising community awareness about depression and anxiety, and reducing the stigma associated with the illness.
Blue Butterfly Foundation recognizes that trauma and abuse can affect people of all ages, spiritually, emotionally and physically. We support people in our local community by providing ongoing, in-depth therapy for their recovery.
